Meet Kristina Robison

Kristina Robison is a filmmaker, producer, and educator with nearly 25 years of experience in the film and television industry. She's worked on major studio productions for Netflix, HBO, and Fox including The Chi, Empire, The Trial of the Chicago 7, and Lovecraft Country. As an independent filmmaker, she's written, directed, and produced original short films—including Augie & Bea and In Honor of Love, both selected as finalists in the 21 Film Project—along with documentary work and commercial projects for churches, nonprofits, and businesses.

But filmmaking is only half of Kristina's story. For over 15 years she's also taught filmmaking to students across Chicago, designing curricula that guide young people through the complete production process while teaching them to think critically about the impact of their creative choices. She's seen her students switch career paths to pursue film, improve their grades to apply to film school, and discovered that professional filmmaking was truly possible for them. Kristina founded Preparation Films to not only construct a space to produce entertaining and edifying media but to create what she wishes existed for her: accessible, professional-level filmmaking education that teaches both craft and conscience.
