Meet Kristina Robison

Filmmaker · Educator · Casting Professional

Kristina is a filmmaker, producer, and educator with over 20 years in film and television and more than 15 years teaching filmmaking to diverse student populations.

As founder of Preparation Films, she has written, directed, produced, and collaborated on narrative, commercial, and corporate projects, while serving in casting roles for major studios and networks — including The Chi, Empire, and The Trial of the Chicago 7.

Her practice of Responsible Filmmaking — an approach that considers the audience's mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being — shapes both her own work and the way she prepares emerging filmmakers to see themselves not only as creators, but as stewards of culture and community.

Teaching the next generation

Since 2009, Kristina has designed and led filmmaking curricula for students ages 10–24 — guiding them through story development, screenwriting, directing, camera, lighting, sound, editing, and casting. Students consistently cite the class as a weekly highlight; one chose film school over real estate, another raised their grades to apply.
